I would opt for a short cut that had a little hair at the nape to be cut jagged or flippy as that reduces the round bubble look of some short hairstyles. Also, a round face needs softness around the face, so jagged and/or flippy goes for around the face as well Don't get it cut so short that the amount of face from the earlobes across the cheek and down to the center of the front of your chin seems like a lot or that will also add to the roundness. I should have looked up some styles before I answered this...I'm sorry. I wish you luck. It's so important to feel good about your hair. I personally don't know why you would want to get rid of your waves but if you are talking about twists you can do a google search for that and you will probably find a lot of websites with people dedicated to twists. Just straighten ur hair then at the end turn the hair straightners at about 90degree angle.
If your hair is layered start from the bottom and work your way up to the shortest layers.

people with oval shaped faces can get away with alot of hairstyles. i would go with the natural texture of your hair. if its naturally curly keep it that way. if its naturally straight do the same. i would just keep it straight and voluminous. i think wavy hair looks good long!

Well, depending on HOW short...here are a few ideas: If it's around shoulder length- get all over razored layer throughout and it'll give you more styling power-ringlets that lay nicely and have bounce, too. Put shine serum (with a good scent) throughout for killer shiny curls that waft through the air and make the guys wanna run their fingers through your beautiful curls!!! OR...
If you have short short hair, go for choppy distinguished layer all over for an up to date (crazy cute) curly pixie. It's easy to straighten when it's that short, too, if you wanna go for a straight flirty pixie cut. To straighten, use a smoothing shampoo and conditioner liberally. Then use Johnson and Johnson Detangling spray (for curly hair that's also frizzy) throughout. Dry with a metal bedded flat brush, then use a straightening iron from root to tip of hair. Rub a pomade throughout for texture and depth. Have fun!!
oh well my hair is the same and I suggest you use some products and do coils they`re are small curls you can easily twist with your hands with a curling product from the beauty supply store
Well if you want something quick than you could do a messy bun.They are really cute and easy.Or you could get some curl enhancer(Catwalk is great)and then defuse it.It only takes about 10 minutes and it is really cute.Or if you want to go completely different you could straighten it with a flat-iron.

My hair has been above my shoulders for a long time, it never really grew because of the damage I caused it from curling, crimping and blow drying. I always wanted long hair so I decide to get hair extentions. I get so much attention now then I've ever gotten with short hair. But you really shouldn't be bothered by what your family says, you obviously needed a change and I'm sure you hair it's alot easier to work with.
Short hair can be sexy, I don't like really short i.e. crew cut short, but short styled hair is definitely sexy. Ignore them its what you feel comfortable with.

Teehee, the same thing happened to me. I had super long hair, always have had and I hated it. I looked at girls with gorgeous hair, straight as an arrow with no frizz bits and thought I had a chance of looking like that. It was not to be. Every hair dresser I've been to has told me how bad my hair is blah blah - (I HATE that, who are they to tell me off for not looking after my hair properly? Excuse me for having other more pressing things on my mind LOL.) and the last one just hacked it all off. I said I wanted it just by my shoulders, but it's level with my chin. I didn't realise it was so different until my boyfriend couldn't bring himself to say anything to me, my dad tilted his head and stared for a few seconds before deciding he thinks he likes it, and my friends didn't even recognise me!! Anyway, they've all come round to it now and tell me they really like it. They say it looks so much better, so much more mature and just healthier. I'm sure your hair wasn't in as bad condition as mine, but you say it was scraggy. Therefore, if nothing else, see this hair cut as a chance to start afresh and really look after your locks, so when they do get long, they're as gorgeous as when you have short hair. Your friends and famly will get used to it, I'm sure. It's just a shock to the system and they probably can't quite get used to it yet. They will though, once you've washed it a few times and had a bit of a play with some funky clips or something.
Men do prefer long hair, short hair is boring it's the same every day with long hair you can put it up so it looks short, I had my long hair cut about 5 inches off and I also hated it so now I am growing mine back too, don't ever get it cut again just trimmed, mines gonna take about 3 years to get it to the length it was roll on
It's a personal preferences. But you know, bobs are never good, maybe it's just the style of the cut? However, if people are making you feel miserable, then you need to tell them to lay off. Do YOU like it? That's all that matters.

I'm going to a wedding in two weeks with my new b/f. I really want to make an impression on everyone, since this will be the first time that I meet his friends, family, etc. (yikes!). I am 30 years old, and I have short hair (i.e., I can barely tuck the sides of my hair behind my ears, and the back is cut so that it is about the length of the bottom of my ears). My hair is very thin/fine, blonde, and naturally wavy/curly (with some layering). I also have bangs (about mid-forehead length), which I typically wear forward since I look funny (i.e., bad) with my hair pulled back from my face. I've tried doing a messy spiky do with a super stiff gel that has fibers in it, and topping it off with hair spray, but in 3 hours it has gone flat. I tried putting velcro bows in, and they fall out. I even tried gluing the velcro bow in with a dab of the gel glue (which held for about 4 hours).
I'm not sure where to find hair accessories that might work for her, and haven't a clue about how to fix her uber short hair. I've looked at websites, but they all seem to be for adults.
I think it is a cute the way it is. Having said that, I remember my gran-daughter having short hair that was very similar and everyone thought she looked like a boy in her pictures.
Headbands seem to be in and I bet you could get something cute at the dollar store. With that hair cut it would look like it was planned.
I need new hairstyles for my trip this year. A hair style that won't take long to make. I'm going on a cruise to Mexico next Saturday and I'm tired of have dull, short hair. Any ideas? I will also choose best answer.

I have the same hair,and sometimes I get bored of it. I would flatiron it,then put it up in piggy tails. Take a little hair from the back of your head out of the piggy tails and tease it a little bit.It gives you the punk rock look,with out useing gell.

If you like your bangs keep them and go shorter at the back/nape and crown. I don't know what your color is but try using contrasting colors and use two shades to emphasize your base color. If you're going for a bold cut put in bold highlights, for a more natural short haircut use finer highlights.
Its easy when you style your hair, just put the gel in, shape and let it dry naturally.

I have short above the shoulder hair naturally. BUT SUCK at styling my own short hair because it's already damaged/dry and I dont even know the proper way to fix that problem.

My suggestion is to use CHI Silk Infusion.
Apply it before you use any heat product on your hair. It gives your hair shine and if using a straightner, it steams the prodcut rather than your hair.
As far as scrunching your hair, the Aussie line has a great "srpunch" line that you can use to scrunch your hair and keep it stayed scrunched.
Bedhead makes this new product, I can't remember the name of it, but it is supposed to work like hairspray, only you use a little bit of it, and it goes a long way, plus it's stronger than hairspray and it can leave your teasing in longer as opposed to using hairspray!

I have short hair. I mean REALLY short. Here's what I do as soon as soon as I am done washing it. First I towel dry but not much as I still want some wet hair. Then I take some mousse or hairspray, and put all throughout my hair. Then with my fingers I finger-comb it and scrunch it just a little bit. I never never never use a brush or comb as I also have very fine, very thin hair and people with short hair don't need it anyway, plus combs / brushes are yet another way to ruin anyone's hair, especially short hair. This way I look like I have lots of hair, when in reality I don't. Plus, I'm finding guys / girls love the "messy do" more and more.

If these don't work, get long sidebangs (that frame your face), and for the rest of your hair, leave about 1 1/2 to 2 inches on. Then straighten the bangs and spike the rest of the hair. It depends on the age and what you comfterble doing. If you are daring go short on the sides and long on the top. The spike the top. Or go for a mid ear cut with longer bangs on each side.

clean it up nice short and neat on sides and back, then jsut about 1 1/2 inches long on top so it will be a bit spikey, but will lay nice without looking all messy as longer toped hair does. Also less hair less to none products cuz your hair aint giong anywhere. And clean and short on dies and back looks great on men, shows they keep up with their looks and take care of themselves (good hygene is a must) Short hair gives that look CLEAN CUT

I think it depends on the person, I loved my hair when it was short, it looked cute and funky and suited my bone structure, it was a kind of elfin cut (like Halle Berry but I am not as pretty as her!) and I am small so I think it worked well. Now I have been trying to grow my hair for just over a year and it is a nightmare. It is not shiny or attractive, it looks like I have had a really bad home perm and I hate it, every morning I am upset with it. I promised my boyfriend I would try and grow it for two years to see what it looks like and he loves it but I am so unhappy with it!

There are tons of short styles, mine is short, and sassy as people say. It flips out on it's own but I am working toward an inverted cut, looks like you have long hair from the front but in the back it's short. I have worn my hair short for years now!! Have fun, cut just a little at a time, and you can always cut more but growing more is some work!!
