I have to be honest and haven't seen the awards ,or Rachel's hair . But want to say why do people who answer these questions have to be so mean, I think I answered one of ur questions before. My daughter spoke to Zac online last night and no he definitely doesn't have a girlfriend, she asked him , and he said no!
I've been looking on google and just about every site. I can't find any hairstyles of woman with very short hair. I mean, like a few celebrities, but that's all. Does anyone know of a haircut/hairstyle site with tons of pictures? Or even a model portfolio of woman with short hair? Anything will do. I'm just not sure how to style my hair.

Five inches past the shoulders isn't "really" long by some tallies. It's probably w-a-y short of your *natural* limit, where new growth gradually replaces shed hair.
Good luck on finding a hair cut that looks good both right off and a month later, otherwise, imagine the support for cancer research or for wigs for kids on chemo temporarily if the fees otherwise spent regularly on trims and/or cuts was donated instead.

It really depends on your face shape and the cut you got. So, if you have a oval or square face, the cut like Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham have would look really sexy and give you more style. If you have a round face, and get a pixie cut, it would probably look like a pumpkin with a lid (no offense if that's what you have). So overall, it depends on what it looks like with your face shape.
different people have different styles. I have long hair and it suites me very well. You, however, probobly have the neck, shoulders, and face for short hair.

I think what would look very nice with your skin complextion and because you have dark brown hair and you are pretty dont be silly is put a medium to dark red highlights in your hair a natural red. And if you want shorter hair i dont recommend it, give it a trim and hightlights for now, grow it to your middle back keep it that length you will look amazing, when you reach your hair length to middle back than you can add a little more of a dramatic affect with the red. If you cant afford to get it done at a salon no proplem go buy colour and get a friend to use the cap do every hole for a dramatic affect or every other hole for just some highlights if you go to a salon and they would rather use foils its up to you but i like the cap repeat every 3 to 4 months. Its all about what you like not others but this is how i think you would look good, and i know people will look at you twice.

I dunno... you might be underestimating yourself. That's some nice hair you've got there. A stylist could give it a trim, but hopefully not too much -- it'd be a shame to lose all that hair when everyone else is sitting here envying it. A little layering and thinning will keep it from weighing itself down, and the stylist could suggest a volumizer. But I just don't think it should be overly messed with beyond that.

I have a round face and have been putting on weight for the last one year. My layered hair just about kiss my shoulders, have a side flip and reasonable bag over one side of my forehead.
People turn heads and I get stopped often enough in the street to know where I get my hair done from!

If you've got a round face it's not recommended that you get your hair cut really short, this can make you face look even rounder. Go and buy a hair magazine, which will have loads of different styles on different face shapes, you can have a look and see what you like. And speak to your hairdresser as they will have had lots of practical experience of what styles suit different face shapes.
There are websites the you can scan a picture of yourself in and then put different stules of hair on yourself, but you have to pay a membership fee and it can get very expensive.
I wouldn't do anything drastic until you have an idea on how you'd look before hacking off your hair. In my opinion a short pixie style hair cut doesn't look good on a person with a chubby face. Try something longer, like a face framing bob or a shoulder length shag. Take a look at this site, upload a picture and give yourself a virtual make-over. Not only are you able to try different hair styles, you can experiment with different hair colors, hair lengths, make up, glasses, contact lenses and even hats. Enjoy.....

The growth time of your hair depends on how well you treat it, but i like the idea of long hair. It's not really my type, but guys that have it always turn out to be pretty cool. If it isn't really your style (If you're preppy..) Don't do it, don't look like a poser..

In a majority, guys with long hair are really hot.. Or atleast I think so.. Almost every guy I've dated had long hiar.. But there is a point when it's too long.. I think that you have a good idea in just growing to above the shoulder.. That's exactly the right length.. And it would probably take two or three months depending on how long it is right now and what kind of care you do to it..

Check out Keith Urban. His style looks easy to manage and is still long. You'd probably have to grow it a little longer and have it slightly layered if you got a wave in it. Wouldn't take you long, just tell the hairdresser you want to grow it, and they do cuts that grow into the style. Hair middle part looks great too.

i like long hair on some guys. for me, it depends on how clean and maintained the hair is and not being all scraggly looking and such. ususally on blondes, i prefer shorter hair, not always, but generally. brunettes i love dark longer hair. antonio banderas can do longer hair very well, for me. i usually like blondes clean shaven and shorter hair and brunettes with some slight stubble and longer hair. perhaps a nice mustache, but prefer no mustache. i think it depends on the man's physical contour of his face and if you have certain bone structure, then long hair is sexy. round and full faces, no, keep hair short and neat and i guess that is about it for now on this subject. too bad you did not post a picture of yourself so we can decide what you would look like with longer hair. i think you can do this perhaps, but use good hair products and don't skimp on them, and wash daily and keep combed or brushed. how are your eyebrows by the way?

Well i have found a great new look for my hair... have you seen the markets? they have these hair pins that look complicated but all you do is tie your hair and twirl it then tuck it in put the hair pins in one side and turn them around and slide the other way ... sounds complicated but its so easy you have to try it and I have never had so many compliments on my hair and its thick and curly

personally I'd dye it black and use a really good conditioner for shine - never brush your hair when it is wet and be gentle with it at all times (so it doesn't break and look frizzy)

Hey! You have the EXACT same hair as I do. What you need to do is get a ceramic hair straightener. They are a bit pricey but you can get off-brands for $40-50... you will need to go to a beauty supply store, that crap they sell at Target and such to "straighten" hair has CLEARLY never seen hair like ours!
Divide your hair into 3 sections to straighten, make sure it is 100% dry. I would do it for you if we lived nearby and you were a friend not a stranger, try the straightener, e-mail me with any questions!
Try taking two inches off to get rid of the thinning out at the ends. Get it a little shorter at the front with layers. The layers near your face will make your face look better and your hair fuller. Get some VERY THIN light brown or auburn coloured highlights.

Alrighty. Well for one thing, it looks really dry. Make sure you're usin conditioner too when you shampoo. The gel makes your hair weigh down too much so try a curlin gel. That will enhance your natural hairs beauty =)

first of all i recomend u buy some products to make ur hair look a lil healthier, cuz it looks kind of dry, i personally like ur curls, they look good on u, but if u want u can straighten it, because straight hair is always pretty

i suggest straightning it but dont forget to use thermal protection spray first~! and side bangs would look nice or side swept bangs i think straight across side bangs would look best not the curved ones. If you want to keep it curly, you can do something besides the spiral, small curls you have now. For your hair it would be really easy to create a pretty wavy look. Easiest way is using a large-barrel curling iron. Use an anti-frizz serum when drying, as well as mousse. You could pull it with a round brush to flatten it some, then use the curling iron to create more loose, smoother curls.
If you want it straight, get some layers cut in it to keep it straight. Good straighteners are easy to find now. :)

I start with a spray leave in conditioner like Integrity by Joico and then I put a dime size squirt of Biosilk on palms and work it through then blow dry with large round brushes and finally sometimes use a flat iron (ceramic) Hope this helps

Let me start out saying I know nothing about hair style, but all my life I've had a short hair style (short enough to spike). However I recently decided to try something new so I've just been letting it grow.
Now I still use gel to keep my hair in place because if I don't it just poofs way out, so far this kind of works except for the back of my head I got kind of a duck tail and I can't really control it.

i have been a hair dresser for 15 years and andyour hair grows from differnt places on your head it does not all grow evenly like we all would like it depends on your body. but if the back drives you crazy may i suggest you get a trim on the back. a little tip your hair grows 10 times faster if you get it trimmed every 6 weeks don't ask me why but it does.
You just let your hair grow. You dont cut it until you get it the length you want it. Then after awhile you go get it trimmed and make it look nice so it isnt too wild.

I would say you grow it all long, it's just that after spiking it for so many years your hair is used to standing up, it will take a while for it to go back. I would suggest you see a barber. I have the same thing with my hair.
If it's too short, it will poof out a bit. I actually had a litte afro when I was 14. So I cut the top and front parts and left it longer in the back so it looked almost like a mini mullet. I used gels too and even wore gel in my hair on my first date. But then the hair got stiff and poofed up a bit.
Well, after I cut it horter in the front and top, the back hair grew and when my hair grew out in front, it didn't seem so poofy with longer hair in the back. Then I parted it in the middle and it weighed down for that. I was able to grow it up to 18 inches long.
Now I have shoulderlength hair cuz my Mom hates my hair long. I think it would look awesome long.

this all depends. cut the back and let the tpo grow only if you want to grow it out one length. all the same length. or you can let it all grow out and get the skater look thats back in style. i would have to say that if you want the ducktail gone to keep growing it, because honestly if you cut the back you will still have to go thru this phase again. talk to your stylist about other hair styles that would fit you better as it grows out, or products that would help. its really hard for me to give you advice without seeing or feeling your hair. hope this helps.
Well, I wouldn't use gel as it gets longer because it will only look oily. Also, you still need to get it trimmed every six weeks because it will be uneven if you don't. Just tell the barber that you're letting it grow long and only to trim the dead ends. Also, some people can't grow their hair out. It doesn't look right for some. I am a woman and look better with medium or short hair. My hair gets kind of frizzy as I let it grow. It's also kind of on the flat side. I think you just need to get it trimmed for now, though
I am growing my hair out long too. What you do is when it gets long enough go see a hair stylest. She/he will just trim your front and some people either get the side burns shorter then just the front or let it grow out longer just like the front. For what I see I think most people let it grow out longer just like the front. The back you let grow out too. But like I said when your hair get long enough put the style into place. The hair stylest will have the back if it's the same length as the front they'll to look good at least to me if you ask and want to look like others. They'll have the back shorter to match so you don't have long hair like a girl and you still look like a boy because the hair in your back is shortened but by like 2 inches verses the front and the sides.

What I did when I cut my hair was a drastic. I got my hair tapered which is basically cutting it off in the back and had my hair cut in an angle which was layered. Having it longer in the front and shorter toward the back. That may not be for you though.
If you want it chin length then just cut it to your chin and then maybe striaghten it if you dont like it short and curly. That style is always pretty. I bet it is really pretty long though. Good luck.

The 18th century was often full of really BIG hair, curls upon curls. Does your hair hold a curl? If so I would have it done with some pinned up into loops or a small bun, and leave some to frame your face and the back of your head, in ringlets. If keeping a curl is an issue, I would try to get as much of your hair pinned up as possible.
Although it may not have been done at the time, I do not think it improper for two girls to dance, due to a lack of men.
Gloves would certainly make the outfit. Long white gloves are better if your dress has no sleeves or short sleeves. Short white gloves would work better than none at all.

I would say that whatever looks best on you would be more in style. Chin-length can mostly work on everyone though. I would look on a site that has different pictures with your face shape on it and sample of hairstyles that look good with your shape.
Girl, they are both in style! Do what you think you look best in and dont be worried bout what other people say to you! Its your hair!.. you should be able to try what you think. Not by other peoples opinions!. :)
i know exactly what ur going through because i am right now too. i want to grow my hair out long, but everytime i do, i try and style it and straighten it and it just frizzes up and looks dry. then i decided to cut it and it looks healthier and i could straighten it perfectly without it drying up. i am going to get it cut again because it was easiest for me. whatever style makes you comfortable and happy and takes the least amount of time to fix, i say go with it !

well it all depends i like long hair but just say you like short hair then that's your opinion i'd have to say whatever you feel good and confident in don't worry about what other people have to say be yourself and everything will fall into place.

Short hair is good only if you have a really good style to it. But I'm trying to grow my hair out too. I just like the long hair because you can do so much more with it. It just depends on what you want to do with your hair. Good luck!

You need to know if those short hair styles are right for you...punked out or not. I found out the hard way that short hair is not right for everyone...I had my hair down to where I could sit on it and my girlfriend had her hair cut short, really short..so I thought I'd do the same...not thinking it may not look right on me and guess what it didn't...I cried every inch while they were cutting my hair and the way it was cut looked just like a mans cut...And I ended up looking like a boy...it was awful, I wore scarfs, hats and stayed home until my hair grew out (oh I don't mean I didn't go to school, just not too many places). And then when my hair grew out I got a perm...which helped. To get back to your short hair cut...go to one of those places where you can see yourself in different hair styles on a computer and that will help. I went to one of those makeover places that take pictures of you in different dress and it was fun...I really liked the cowgirl one and the all american too...give that a try. If you go short and sexy...there are so many products to use to make it sexy...see your local salon. I like the one that is fluffed out in back and on the sides and curled on top but I couldn't do it so I just admire it on others and do the french twist with a bun at the top...boring sometimes but my hair is thin and baby fine so I couldn't get mine to look right even if short hair looked nice on me. That is another thing to think about...will your hair do those short sexy do's you want....experiment with a wig and see if you would like short hair then if so Go For It. God Bless, Elle

Well, my hair is wavy, thick, and layered. It is to my shoulders and i have no hair styles, because of the short layers i have to wear a headband everyday. Any1 have any ideas? thanks for the help.
You could straighten with a good set of straighteneres(GHD) if it's thick like mine,it will keep the waves at bay.Or you could put perm lotion through it, leave on for an hour and it takes the wave out your hair.

try taking you shortest layers and taking them an putting a POFFE on the top of your head. (its the style thats in)
Take a comb an tease at the roots, put some hair spary in it and then take hair clips and clip it so it makes a poffe.

When you get out of the shower, dont Brush your hair, use a pick an comb throw your hair, then take the DREAM CURL and spray it threw out your hair and do a skruncing motion threw your hair. Then take the moose and put it on the ends and roots.put up in a clip to dry or us a diffuser. Just dont use hairspay cuz that what gives it that skunchy wet look.

and put them in your hair. Hot curling rollers look awsome in layerd hair. Buy them and you'll love them. they are simple to use. Heat them up, Put them in your hair for 10 min take out put a little spray an you'll look like your going to hit up the red carpet. If you do buy hot curling rollers but them as big as you can or one that have all diffrent sizes in them.
When you say short layers... I assume you mean you don't have alot of layers. You could always put it up into a ponytail if you don't have time... I think it looks nice when you have a bit of waves.
Heard Dream Curls has worked for most people with curlier hair... so that could work for you. Most would apply some sort of curling mousse or curling spray while the hair is damp and they either "air dry" or blow dry with a diffuser. Some add serum after or before letting it dry... but you can do both to create a shiny healthier look. I go with "air dry" because my hair is normally dry.
You can use rollers if you want enhance your waves, this can work with heat or without.... but if you going to use somethin with heat I would suggest to use any styling products that is made for heat to prevent from damaging your hair if you were to go straight or not.
I think it would look prettier if you could ask your hairdressor to layer it more and slim down the look... and if they cut it right, it would be alot easier to style.
I use to love the straight look but it is very time-consuming for our type of hair... so it is easier to work with what you have. I only use the straightener to fix my bangs.... but you can do whatever you want. Good luck!

Really, I think there is no "surfer girl" style. A google image search for surfer girl just shows your normal bleach blonde long haired beauty.
When I think of surfer girl hair, I think of short, messy styles... something that's easy to care for and low maintenence.
